A. No they are not. Nor do I use any software. All my volumes are hand crafted from my own brain on paper first. I make blank grids on graph paper. I use regular notebook paper to make my word lists, clue lists, letter lists and other process steps involved in the creating of each volume. Then I type everything into my own created files for printed publication. I print out all the puzzles and do them and check everything for typos and such. And I design my own covers. All Volumes are copyrighted.
A. They take numerous hours. There are several steps and factors that go into making each one. It's a very long and time consuming process.
A. Sudoku has broken out into several other types of themes. I've seen them using colors, emojis, cats, and other objects including letters. However this is unlike any other because it's the only style that can change the skill level with each individual puzzle. By having a clue to answer with each puzzle gives the solver the opportunity to make the puzzle easier to solve. Placing the answer where it appears in the puzzle only once either going across or down can give them extra starter letters for easier solving. You can't do that with any other kind of sudoku without looking in the answer key. What you get is what you get. Each of my volumes contains both a separate word list and answer key, and the answers are shaded in the answer keys. Even if you don't know what the answer to the clue is you can find it in the word list without having to look in the answer key and you still have to figure out where it goes. But if its still too tough, a quick glance at the answer key will help too without having to study it. :)
A. Several years ago someone I lived with had a subscription to a certain weekly magazine. It was a magazine that had existed for many decades and always had a crossword puzzle in the back. And I am a puzzle lover of several types, and the first thing I seek out in any magazine or newspaper are the puzzles. In the early 2000's this weekly magazine changed it's format and to my delight when I went to the crossword puzzle I discovered that they added a sudoku puzzle as well. But instead of numbers it used letters and would have a clue along with the 9 given letters. It took me a few weeks to figure out that not all of the 9 given letters were necessarily part of the answer, but I loved the fact that if you knew the answer and where it went in the puzzle it helped to solve the tougher puzzles. All the weekly clues only pertained to the magazine itself. I enjoyed it so much that I went in search to find a sudoku puzzle book using this concept, and to my disappointment I could not find one anywhere. In stores or online. I also figured that I couldn't be the only person who really enjoyed this sudoku method, soooo..... I decided to make a book of my own and expanding on the subject base. I really wanted to make a series of books. In 2010 I began making my first book and published it in 2011. I Published 2 & 3 in 2021 and have 6 others completed and hope to start getting them published soon. And I have 9 others that I will be working on over the next few years. And the whole series will be color themed.
